I’m headed into San Francisco to attend Google I/O this morning. I’ll be in the audience for the keynote where Google will likely show off or announce:
- New smartwatches using Android Wear
- A new TV entertainment/gaming system and or a new set-top box
- Android in the car
- New efforts around Nest and the connected home
- The new Android OS
The company is making a more aggressive push beyond the desktop and mobile devices into more areas of users’ lives. I’m also eager to check in on Tango and 3D mapping at the event as well.
Also this morning, Mike Blumenthal and Phil Rozek have pointed out that the company is promoting Google My Business (GMB) on its homepage.
It’s not unusual for Google to announce or expose new products or services on its homepage after their launch. However this does indicate that Google is serious about building awareness and adoption for GMB.
The company has also released its promised iPhone app for the service.
