Tablets Top Holiday Gadget Wish Lists

Two recent surveys by Nielsen and Retrevo offer a strong directional indication of potential holiday gadget sales. Retrevo asked about Black Friday shopping and holiday wish lists. Nielsen asked about six-month buying intentions.

Below is the collection of gadgets that people expressed interest in according to the Retrevo survey.

The Kindle Fire, which last week received mixed-to-mediocre reviews, is second on this list. And it “edged out the iPad” among male survey respondents according to Retrevo.

Nielsen asked about which devices kids wanted to buy (or beg for) in the next six months. The first graphic below reflects the responses of those in the 6-12 year age group. The second graphic reflects the answers of those over 13.

The younger kids were more interested in Apple products vs. the older kids who had a more diversified list. The iPad topped both lists however (as it did last year).
