Outside.in Showing New CityGrid Display Ads

Outside.in is working with Citygrid to show “targeted advertising from CityGrid Media [on] the neighborhood news pages across [the Outside.in] Network.” But this is display advertising. Outside.in is apparently one of the few “beta-partners” for a new CityGrid display ads product.

CEO Mark Josephson told me via email that the results thus far have been “fantastic.” I asked what that meant and he said fantastic in terms of CTRs and eCPM.

CityGrid is one of several local ad networks that simply didn’t exist a few years ago. The presence of CityGrid and other networks (most of which are mobile) such as The Dealmap, WHERE, xAD, Marchex, Chitika, Verve, LSN Mobile and a few others, is striking. It allows independent developers who only previously had recourse only to AdSense to actually make a living with a blog/local site or mobile application — provided they can attract traffic.
